Mid-year last year, we went through the process of interviewing builders to build our, “dream home”. The decision was going to be based on many different areas: money, work ethic, personality and the willingness to satisfy customers were just a few. After meeting with quite a few people, we chose to go with JG Development, Inc. This was a decision we were extremely satisfied with from the start. While it is always a stressful time building a new home, you and your staff took the time to make sure things went along smoothly.  We feel like we have a very well constructed home with the amenities we were looking for.  We love the layout, the look and feel of the house. Your workers (including your office personnel) always made us feel, “like family”, as opposed to a customer. As far as working with you and your staff, we truly believe we could not have gotten better service from anyone else. We expected top notch service and everyone on your staff delivered. We especially liked Jesse’s and Jay’s attention to detail.

I heard about JG Development through my heating contractor two years before I built. My first impression of Jeff was very favorable although I had not heard of him or his company. I was skeptical in the beginning knowing the horror stories I had heard from owners about all the problems they had with some builders. Jeff priced out my first plan, but I decided to change the house design; so a year passed by until I got my revised house plans. Three builders priced out the second set of house plans. JG Development was in the middle with a price about $10,000 higher. Through Jeff’s perseverance and determination I signed the contract with JG Development because I felt he was the more qualified contractor for the job. I have been a builder

We found Jeff Grundahl and JG Development in 2003 after moving to a house that needed a great deal of, “help”. Our landscaper recommended that we talk to Jeff.  We planned to talk to him along with other contractors, but after meeting with him, we were so impressed that we decided just to go with JG and skip talking to other firms. That turned out to be a great decision on our part! Since then, we have used JG for four separate projects and each project has always exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be happier with the work they’ve done for us. 

The latest of our projects was an interior remodel completed in spring of 2005. Our house is very unusual. The original owner did most of the construction on his own and to say that the carpentry work was sub-standard is quite an understatement! Jeff and his crew did an amazing job of transforming the interior. What used to be awkward and strange is now homey and inviting. We have received many compliments since the work was completed!

We have always been impressed with Jeff’s ability to look at a difficult job as “fun”. We’ve been able to rely on his staff to come up with creative and innovative ideas to deal with our atypical house and overcome any technical difficulties along the way to get the end result. 

We genuinely believe that without JG Development's help, talent and enthusiasm we would have had to give up on our place and start from scratch, but they’ve made it into a great little cottage in the woods that we wouldn’t trade for anything. We would recommend JG Development highly to anyone who is considering building or remodeling and we wouldn’t consider using anyone else.

A year ago when we began working with you on the floor plan and design, we had no idea that by this time in 2005, we would actually be living in the final results! Throughout the entire design process, ordering, implementation, excavation, construction and completion, we had nothing but positive experiences the entire step of the way. The floor plan is perfect for our lifestyle, which includes accommodating our large working dogs, fits the wooded property to a tee and reflects the very casual, natural, outdoor lifestyle which we both love so much.

Even though every one of your staff worked effortlessly every step of the way, a special kudos goes to Jesse, our project manager, who stayed in constant contact with us in regard to questions and updates, met us on site to review various items during construction and always, always, kept a calm and patient demeanor throughout the entire project. 

Also, a special thanks to Denise, who was very patient in working through the payment and draw schedule and kept us informed as to where we were in terms of our budget. 

Michelle did a great job on the JG Development web site, in keeping our families informed of the progress via pictures throughout the building stages, which they greatly appreciated since they all live quite a distance away.

Well, by now we shouldn’t have to tell you (formally) that we are extremely pleased, at times positively gleeful, with our experience building our home with you, your staff and your subcontractors. To a point, everyone we came in contact with during the building process was professional, patient and efficient.

Though we chose to build a rather unique structure, we didn’t anticipate having a difficult time finding a builder! JG was the third builder we called regarding our project, and the first to actually sound excited by the challenge of assembling our circular, panelized home. From the get go we felt comfortable with the company. Little did we know that when we signed with you, we were not hiring just a builder, but an extremely competent, well-organized and thoughtful organization, backed by a friendly and efficient group of employees and associates.

We can’t say enough about Jesse’s professionalism and effectiveness. The guy is just really good! Nothing seems to rattle him, even a couple of goof balls like us trying to plan our first home. Even when that home comes packaged like a sausage (thanks again for waiting until after we were moved to bring that up...). Peter’s design ideas work perfectly, and Michelle and Denise were always friendly and very responsive to our calls and questions. Sometimes talking to JG was the bright spot in the day. How many folks can say that about their builder? The onsite crew was fabulous and during the entire project the site was well-organized and as clean as you can expect a building site to be.

Jeff, you have a great crew. You all exceeded our expectations and we’re very happy with our home. We’re glad to be part of the JG family, and will enthusiastically recommend you to anyone who asks and perhaps even a few folks who don’t.

JG Development built a cabin for us. We have nothing but good things to say about our experience. The staff was very friendly and fun to work with and the finished product is wonderful!

The design process was excellent. I had drawn up some plans and had some unusual requests. Even my most unconventional design ideas were well received and the team figured out how to get them done. When we learned our lot would require a full foundation, JG suggested some design changes to utilize space better and reduce building expense.

We wanted an old look to our new construction. JG helped locate old barn boards and posts and made suggestions regarding new materials that would help us achieve an older look. One material in particular, some bark shakes we used around the fireplace, greatly helped to achieve the look we were after.

We would highly recommend JG Development, Inc. (and already have) to our friends.
